Alabado sea Dios is a collection of gorgeously crafted sacred latino songs
from around the world sung passionately by Julia Wade. With its beautiful
melodies, latino rhythms and rich orchestrations, this music will inspire
both Spanish and English listeners alike.
The music in Alabado sea Dios comes from South America, Spain, Mexico, the
Dominican Republic, Cuba and the United States, with two brand new
compositions from Peter Link. It ranges from the haunting “El amor” to
the playful “Al despuntar en la loma el día,” from the stately “Pueblo
santo y elegido,” and the mysterious “Apaciento mis ovejas,” to the joyful
“Gracias con alabanza.” Alabado sea Dios sings praise to God and His
creation in a rich tapestry of latino rhythms, colors, emotions and ideas.
Julia Wade has collaborated once again with award-winning composer and
producer
Peter Link,
as well as amazing musicians and singers from Latin
America and the U.S., including Latin jazz pianist
Rafael Alcalá,
guitarists Chieli Minucci
and Bobby Stanton,
violinist James Graseck, with
vocal arranger Margaret Dorn
Jillian Armsbury,
Emily Bindiger,
Oriente Lopez,
David Oquendo,
Kevin Osborne, Deborah Resto, and Russell
Velásquez. Be prepared to celebrate right along with these great
musicians!
Alabado sea Dios
came about when Julia Wade and Peter Link were
commissioned to record a Spanish inspirational CD as a result of Julia’s
continuing position as the Soloist for the Spanish services at The First
Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston. There she performs an incredible
array of latino sacred music with Latin jazz pianist Rafael Alcalá, as
represented on this CD.
So that Spanish and English listeners alike may enjoy the music, lyrics in
Spanish and English are included in the CD booklet of
Alabado sea Dios.
Enjoy!
