Life has been jam-packed.  I believe it is for most everyone these days. My "jam-packed" is filled with music projects, deadlines, rehearsals and all things Watchfire Music, while currently recording my newest album. It's a sacred CD that will also offer digital sheet music for many of the songs so that they may be performed in local churches and inspirational events around the globe.

It's been several years since I recorded a CD of specifically sacred-centered or church-focused music. This sacred music is my foundation, though, from which all other music and projects spring.  It's a total joy to work on this.  It's home.

As part of my preparation for the CD, lately I've been going on rehearsal-walks: I take my iPod and ear buds and head out to the nearby park.  I walk several miles and dive deep into the music tracks -- living the lyrics, feeling the harmonies, and walking the rhythms.  I dream the stories in each song. Last evening, I went on a rehearsal-walk with the song I am recording this weekend. As I looked out at the green expanse and calm water beneath the benign spring sky, there were only St. Paul's ancient words and this new music coursing through my soul, coaxing me to simply "Live in Peace."

Oh! And St. Paul, as he sang his song to me, winked and laughed in my imagination with a joy and wisdom that I can only hope to sing back to him and to all who will be listening later on!

Live In PeaceMusic by Peter LinkLyrics adapted from II Corinthians 13 & Ephesians 4Additional Lyrics by Peter Link

Finally, my brethren, farewell. Be perfect, Be of good comfort, Be of one mind, Live in peace; And the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, And of the knowledge of the Son of God, Unto a perfect man, Unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

So finally, dear brethren, farewell. Be perfect, Be of good comfort, Be of one mind, Live in peace; And the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Till we all come in the glory of one another,And of the knowledge that we all are one.So let the love pour forthTo all your brothers and your sisters in the family of God.

Now finally, good bretheren, farewellLive in peaceThen we will all be of one mind togetherIf we be in peacethen the God of peace shall be with youAmen

PS -- To anyone who might be wondering about the "Certainties" CD that was supposed to come out this spring, -- it will be released!

We made a creative left turn and realized that the Certainties album really contained two different goals and therefore two different types of music. So, we divided the music between this current sacred album and the Certainties release-to-be. Really, we are working on 2 albums concurrently. I will keep you updated on release dates!

PS again -- I want to add a footnote, in case you are not familiar with my partner, producer and main composer, Peter Link.  He is writing most of the music in the new sacred CD, as well as orchestrating and producing the album.  What an amazing joy to continue the work with him!
